Our Programs

Gymnastics is the perfect sport to develop coordination, strength, balance, flexibility, aerial awareness and gross and fine motor skills... It's a great complimentary activity to assist with other sports or gymnasts may become a competitive athlete in gymnastics.

We offer a wide range of small group classes held Monday to Saturday for children of all ages and abilities, and we categorise our classes to create a fun space for all children to enjoy gymnastics with similarly aged friends.

Our engaging and inspiring qualified coaches will teach children age appropriate activities and skills in a fun environment. There will be a focus on coordination, strength, flexibility as these are key to the development of gymnastics skills. During the term gymnasts will have the opportunity to use all of our apparatus including the Sprung Floor, Bars, Beam, Trampoline & Vault, Rings, Climbing Bars, Rope and Rhythmic Apparatus. This class also involved a more structured approached to strength and flexibility.

Shire's Competitive Program

Shire Gymnastics offers a competitive program in the gymnastics sports Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) and Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG). These are the sports that see women compete on the Floor, Bars, Beam and Vault, and men compete on the Floor, High Bar, Parallel Bars, Rings, Pommel and Vault.

If your child shows interest in competing in gymnastics, we offer a pathway through our Advanced Gym classes, including an assessment to determine their suitability for our competitive programs. Gymnasts coming from other clubs may also undergo an assessment to determine their suitability and competitive level. Our assessments involve an aged based skill, strength & flexibility test. Please note that a certain amount of natural ability and skill is required and not all children are approved for our competitive program.

Keep in mind, competitive gymnastics is a family commitment as it requires dedication to the program with increased compulsory training hours (including Saturday sessions), increased costs, and commitment to competitions on weekends that may incur travel. Please note that we can not give you costs or training hours until after an assessment is done as we cannot guarantee the suitable squad before this.
